Find a maze map

Created from over 1.5 million maze plants and covering an area larger than fifteen Wembley football pitches, York Maze is thought to be the biggest maize maze in the world!

Bigger and better than ever and now at its new location on Elvington Lane near the Air Musuem, York Maze offers a fun packed day out all the family will enjoy.

Giant Maize Maze

Each year the maze has a new design and a new theme. For 2010 the maze pathways have been cut in the shape of a Spitfire to mark the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. Collect your maze quiz card on the way in and follow the clues given by the giant talking sculptures. You never know what you might find in the maze. Viewing towers help ensure you don't get too lost in one of the largest mazes in the world. A refreshments area in the middle of the maze is a welcome break where you can buy drinks and ice cream. Find your way around the maze, collect the clues to solve the puzzle and you may win a prize!

Farm Animals

Meet the farm animals in the Maize Field Farm. You may even get to help with feeding time. Cheer on your favourite hog in the fantastic pig racing arena.

Attractions and activities

There is acres of fun to keep you entertained including the Monkey Mayhem tractor trailer ride, children's sand and water play zone, adventure climb, jumping pillow, inflatable maze, and electric quad bikes (coin operated). Take a swing at mini golf, confound your senses in the maze of illusions, and get a soaking in water wars!

Relax with a snack in the café, try locally reared meat from the barbecue, and browse the gift shop.
